TN’s Chidambaram Nataraja temple management gets 15 days to file reply on irregularities and complaints

The Tamil Nadu HR&CE authorities have given a 15-day period to dikshitars of the Chidambaram Nataraja temple to respond to the irregularities and complaints submitted by people in over 14,000 petitions.
A committee has been created by the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowements (HR&CE) department, which sought petitions from ‘persons having interest’ in the Chidambaram Nataraja temple’s management.
The committee claims that 19,405 petitions were received, out of which 14,098 petitions mentioned irregularities in temple management and mentioned some complaints too.
This comes after the dikshitars (a community of brahmins who serve as the hereditary trustees of the Nataraja temple in Chidambaram) shunned HR&CE authorities from investigating the temple records for two days. The dikshitars have been given a 15-day period to respond to the complaints and irregularities.
1. No receipt for offerings given. For Rs 10,000 collected, they claimed ‘temple prasad’ would reach their home.
2. The untouchable wall raised by dikshitars blocking the South Gate should be removed.
3. Allow reciters to sing Thevaram songs at Sitrambalam.
4. Place a Hundi similar to other temples in Tamilnadu.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
