A girl in Tamil Nadu killed herself after harassment and forced conversion to Christianity. DMK leader Kanimozhi alleges that the BJP is using the child's death for politics and creating disharmony in the state.
Kanimozhi of Tamil Nadu’s DMK party has accused the BJP of using a child’s death to create disharmony in the state. She referred to the incident in Thanjavur where a child consumed poison after being forced to clean rooms in her hostel and convert to Christianity.
Kanimozhi, a Member of Parliament representing the Thoothukudi constituency in the Lok Sabha, said that school education minister Anbil Poyyamozhi has already clearly explained what has happened.
Adding to that, she hit out at the BJP, accusing them of trying to create disharmony in Tamil Nadu. “They are trying to create politics and disharmony here. Tamilnadu has always been a secular state and we all live as one. It is very sad that they are using a child's death in such a way,” she said.
