
TMC to hold next working committee meet in New Delhi after Assembly polls

The TMC's national working committee was convened on Friday at chief minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) is preparing to organise the next working committee meeting in New Delhi.
Sources in the TMC said the party will hold a meeting with the members of the newly formed committee after the Assembly elections in five states are over.
The TMC's national working committee was convened on Friday at chief minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat.

Amid differences between the old and new guard in the TMC, party supremo Mamata Banerjee said that veterans who have toiled to build the party cannot be dispensed with at the cost of a new generation of leadership.
The 20-member committee, with Mamata Banerjee at its helm, was announced on February 12. All existing posts belonging to the party’s top brass were abolished, including that of her nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
