
TMC, BJP spar over ‘Rome meet invite’ to Mamata Banerjee

A war of words broke out between the TMC and the BJP after West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was reportedly invited to attend a world peace meeting in Rome.
A war of words has erupted between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was reportedly invited to attend a world peace meeting in Rome. While the TMC said it is a proud moment, the BJP has questioned how a chief minister was invited bypassing the prime minister.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
