Forest Guard from Tiruvannamalai honored for rescuing stranded woman on Arunachala Hills during Maha Deepam festival.
A Forest Guard from Tiruvannamalai was honoured on Thursday for his bravery in rescuing a woman from Andhra Pradesh who had been stranded on the Arunachala Hills during the Maha Deepam festival.
The incident took place when the woman, who had climbed the mountain illegally, was stranded and unable to descend for two days. In a remarkable act of courage, Forest Guard A. Rajesh scaled the hill, carried the woman on his back, and brought her to safety.
The commendation took place at the monthly review meeting held at the Principal Chief Conservator’s Office in Guindy, where Srinivas R. Reddy, the Head of Forest Force, presented Mr. Rajesh with a certificate of appreciation for his heroic action. The event was attended by several senior officials, including Chief Wildlife Warden Rakesh Kumar Dogra.
