
Three arrested in Thiruvannamalai under POCSO act after minor girl becomes pregnant

The 16-year-old girl allegedly tried to kill herself and was admitted to the hospital. She was found to be 6 months pregnant. The school principal and hostel warden were held for not informing officials despite knowing about the incident.
Three people were arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai on Wednesday, January 19. The arrest occurred after a 16-year-old girl studying in a residential school became pregnant.
The three included the accused Hariprasd, the school's principal and hostel warden.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
