
Three arrested for manufacturing illicit liquor in Agra

Following dozens of deaths in UP's Aligarh due to illicit liquor, Agra Police on Monday launched an operation in which three liquor mafias were arrested for manufacturing illicit liquor.
Several people have died since Friday after consuming toxic liquor in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh while dozens are undergoing treatment in hospitals. Following orders from the Uttar Pradesh government to take strict action against the liquor mafia all over the state, Agra Police on Monday launched an operation in which three liquor mafias were arrested for manufacturing illicit liquor. A large number of bottles, caps, and QR code rolls were found in their possession. It was to be sold in the rural areas of the district.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
