
'This is like Mahabharata': Chirag Paswan claims support of LJP national executive

Putting on a show of strength, embattled LJP leader Chirag Paswan ruled out the possibility of a reconciliation within the family after being "betrayed" by his uncle Pashupati Paras and brother Prince Raj.
In a show of strength, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan on Sunday held a meeting of the party's national executive and claimed that 90 per cent of the members who attended the meeting endorsed his leadership. Talking to reporters after the meeting, the former LJP president said, "Today I called a meeting of the national executive. Ninety per cent of the working committee members were with me. Except for Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir, the presidents of all other states are with us." Chirag Paswan also questioned the number of party leaders who supported the faction headed by his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. Paras had announced a new national executive on Saturday.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
