Friends, fans and colleagues all paid tribute to the Oscar-nominated actor, who died Tuesday at the age of 79.
Teri Garr’s death on Tuesday at the age of 79 was deeply felt on social media.
Garr’s publicist, Heidi Schaeffer, said the actor died of multiple sclerosis and was “surrounded by family and friends,” according to The Associated Press.
Garr had a six-decade career in Hollywood that began with her being a background dancer in various TV shows and movies, including six Elvis Presley films.
She later transitioned into acting, working on “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour,” and later movies like “Young Frankenstein,” “Close Encounters,” and “Tootsie,” for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
After Garr’s death was announced, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to pay their respects.
