The Telangana government has decided to observe September 17 as Telangana National Integration Day during a state cabinet meeting on Saturday.
The Telangana government has decided to observe September 17 as “Telangana National Integration Day.” The decision was taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during a state cabinet meeting on Saturday, September 3.
On September 17, 1948, erstwhile Hyderabad State under Nizam rule merged with the Indian Union. CM KCR said the government would organise three-day celebrations beginning September 16 to mark the historic day.
Massive rallies will be organised with the participation of students, youth, men and women in all the headquarters of the Assembly constituencies on September 16.
According to the official statement released by the Telangana CMO, on September 17, the chief minister will unfurl the national flag in the public garden and deliver his speech. On the same day, ministers and other public representatives would do the same at their respective centres.
KCR will also inaugurate Banjara Adivasi Bhavan on the same day. A massive rally will be taken out with cultural performances including Gussadi Gondu and other art forms. After that, a public meeting will be held at the NTR Stadium where the CM will be the chief guest.
On September 18, freedom fighters of the state would be honoured in all the district headquarters besides felicitating poets, artistes and other personalities.
