Telangana man booked for calling police repeatedly after wife refused to cook mutton curry

Naveen began calling the police emergency number, 100, after his wife refused to cook mutton curry on Friday, March 18. Initially, the police operator thought it was a prank call. But after 5-6 calls, a policeman visited his house and found him in a drunk state.
Telangana’s Nalgonda police arrested a man for repeatedly calling the police helpline number, 100. Naveen, the man who was arrested, made the calls as he was angry with his wife for not cooking his favourite mutton curry at dinner.
Naveen was enraged that his wife did not cook mutton curry on Friday night, March 18. After an argument, he called the police by dialling 100 numbers.
Initially, when Naveen dialled the police control room number and described the incident and ‘complained’ against his wife, the operator considered it to be a drunk call.
However, after six continuous calls, the on-duty policeman alerted his superiors. A patrol car was sent to Naveen’s house, but he was in a sloshed condition. So, the policemen left him at home to sleep it off.
On Saturday morning, the police again knocked on his door in Cherla Gouraram village in Kanagal Mandal and took Naveen into custody.
Naveen was booked under sections 290 (Punishment for public nuisance) and 510 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
