Telangana Congress leaders lodge complaints against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for comments on Rahul Gandhi

Telangana Congress senior leaders and MP Revanth Reddy have filed complaints against Assam CM Himanta Biswa for his comments on Rahul Gandhi. They have requested the police to file an FIR against Himanta Biswa.
Telangana Congress unit chief and Member of Parliament (MP), Revanth Reddy, and other senior leaders of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) have complained about Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa’s comments against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
While addressing a rally in Uttarakhand on February 11, Himanta Biswa called out Rauhl Gandhi for demanding proof of the September 2016 surgical strikes. He further asked if the BJP had ever demanded proof of him being the "son of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi".
Several complaints were filed by the Congress across the state on Monday, February 14. The complaint mentioned the respectable family background of Rahul Gandhi.
“His great grandfathers, Late Sri Motilal Nehru and Late Sri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru played a major role in the freedom struggle and spent several years in prison for the country. His great grandfather Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, grandmother Late Indira Gandhi and his father Late Rajiv Gandhi had served this nation as prime Ministers,” said Congress leaders.
Highlighting the contribution of the Gandhi family, Congress leaders said, “His father Late Rajiv Gandhi had Commenced his Sadbhvana yatra in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad from the historic Charminar on October 19, 1990. Rahul Gandhi also participated in the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration meeting held at historic Charminar in the year 2018.”
The complainant alleged that the comments of the Assam Chief Minister deeply pained and hurt them and they have requested the police to register an FIR against Himanta Biswa Sarma under Sections 153-A, 505 (2) and 294 of the Indian Penal Code.
State Congress unit chief, Revanth Reddy, approached the Hyderabad Jubilee Hills police and filed a complaint against the Assam CM.
