This came days after the final chargesheet in the matter was filed before the relevant court. In the document, the SIT noted that dairy experts had allegedly colluded with ghee manufacturers.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh has taken strong exception to what it called "attempts to mislead the public" in the wake of claims that a chargesheet filed by the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI)-led Special Investigation Team (SIT) had disproved the Chandrababu Naidu-led government's allegations in the Tirupati laddu row.
This came days after the final chargesheet in the matter was filed before the relevant court. In the document, the SIT noted that dairy experts had allegedly colluded with ghee manufacturers.
The officials further claimed that the original material sold to Tirumala Temple in Tirupati as ghee was actually a mixture of chemically processed palmolein oil and other ingredients.
Flaunting the chargesheet, the YSRCP, which was in power in Andhra Pradesh during the alleged scam, on Thursday claimed that it was conclusive proof that allegations of animal fat being used in the preparation of the sacred Srivari laddus were fundamentally bogus.
A group of senior YSRCP leaders said the CBI-led SIT investigation into the alleged ghee adulteration case delivered a "decisive blow to the politically manufactured falsehood" that the consecrated sweet was adulterated.
YSRCP leaders RK Roja and M Manohar Reddy asserted that the most faith-sensitive claim at the heart of the controversy has collapsed.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
