The Tamil Nadu government has announced that it will withdraw most cases registered against anti-Sterlite protesters.
The Tamil Nadu government on Friday announced that it will withdraw most cases registered against anti-Sterlite protesters. The state government said that it will also give no-objection certificates (NOCs) to those arrested during protests so that they can pursue higher education and jobs. The decision was taken on the basis of the recommendations of Justice Aruna Jegadeesan Commission of Inquiry. Justice Aruna Jegadeesan had submitted her interim report to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on May 14. As per the report, Justice Aruna Jagadeesan has, so far, summoned 1052 people and has had 27 sittings. The commission has examined 719 witnesses and also scrutinised 1,126 documents.More Related News
