Police and the forest department have arrested six men for smuggling ambergris, commonly known as whale vomit, near Thiruchendur town in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi.
The police and forest department on Tuesday arrested six men for smuggling two kgs of ambergris, commonly known as whale vomit, near Thiruchendur town in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi. Ambergris is an extremely expensive substance used in manufacturing perfume. Based on a tip-off, the police set up a check point where they ultimately caught six people in a car carrying a parcel containing a blackish substance.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
