The petitioner, Gnanarajan, alleged that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Pannerselvam conducted illegal mining on government land.
A plea has been filed at Madras High Court to register an FIR against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, alleging Rs 500-crore corruption against him.
The litigant, Gnanarajan, from Theni district has sought the court’s direction to the Department of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption to register an FIR against AIADMK Coordinator and former CM O Panneerselvam. Gnanarajan alleged that Pannerselvam conducted illegal mining on government land. He said that the worth of the illegal mining operations amounted to nearly Rs 500 crore. The operations also involved Panneerselvam’s family members, he alleged.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
