A girl student hanged herself to death on Saturday in Tamil Nadu’s Tensaki. She took the extreme step after she was allegedly asked by her professors to write an apology letter.
The student was found hanging in her room on Saturday when her mother had gone to see if she was ready to leave for college.
In a suicide note recovered by police, the student said she was accused of bringing a cellphone in the class. She said two professors had scolded her over something she didn’t do and asked her to write an apology letter.

The 18-year-old student also wrote that the professor scolded her in the presence of other students.
The relatives of the student staged a protest demanding justice.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case and arrested both the professors. Further investigation in the case is underway.
