Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated Phase 2 of Pinnacle Infotech’s Global Engineering Centre of Excellence in Madurai on Saturday (February 21, 2026).
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a housing project designed to provide accommodation for about 1,200 employees in the presence of Information Technology and Digital Services Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Ministers K.N. Nehru, P. Moorthy, I. Periasamy, Thangam Thennarasu, and K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, and Pinnacle Infotech CEO and co-founder Bimal Patwari.
ELCOT Managing Director K.P. Karthikeyan, Madurai District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar, and senior officials from various departments attended.
Mr. Patwari said that in this era of disruption, where AI and automation are fundamentally transforming engineering, Pinnacle is leading the charge globally. With 2,000 jobs already generated, the number is expected to double to 4,000 professionals. Such a facility in Madurai would enable the company to deliver high-quality digital outcomes for the world’s most complex infrastructure projects directly from India, positioning Tamil Nadu as a global engineering and digital construction hub.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Ankuran Science Centre, which offers schoolchildren hands-on access to advanced science education. Officials said that the state-of-the-art facility and simulation labs would pave the way for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry excellence.
The new Centre can serve over 11,000 students from various schools, fostering innovation through experiential science learning.
