Cordon-and-search operation in Ahobilam; more than 280 liquor bottles seized

Police in Ahobilam seized over 280 illegal liquor bottles and arrested eight during a major Cordon-and-Search Operation.
Police seized more than 280 liquor bottles stocked illegally and arrested eight persons during a Cordon-and-Search Operation (CASO) on Saturday morning (February 21, 2026) at Ahobilam.
Nearly 50 police officers and personnel under the supervision of Allagadda Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Pramod conducted the operation in which 247 bottles of liquor and 37 beer bottles were seized. In addition, vehicle checking was conducted at key points and houses of identified rowdy-sheeters and suspected persons were also searched as part of the operation.
Mr. Pramod said Ahobilam is a prominent religious place, and any illegal activities such as illicit liquor sale, ID arrack, or rowdyism will not be tolerated. He warned that stringent action will be taken against those involved in unlawful activities.
Allagadda Rural CI B.V. Ramana, and sub-inspectors of various police stations under the division participated in the Cordon and Search Operation.
