Flying squad seizes TVK-stickered utensils in Namakkal; police file case against youth wing secretary Madeswaran
The flying squad officials in Namakkal district seized utensils with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) stickers on them on Monday (March 16, 2026) evening.
Acting on a tip-off, the flying squad official,s led by assistant agriculture officer Nishanth, searched an unallocated house in the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Unit at Varakoorampatti near Tiruchengode. During the search, they seized 111 utensils worth ₹31,160, with the photos of TVK president Vijay and other functionaries. The officials later lodged a complaint with the Tiruchengode Rural police against TVK youth wing secretary Madeswaran. The police registered a case against him under Sections 329 (4) and 173 of BNS and are investigating further.
Similarly, flying squad officials who were engaged in a vehicle check at Dadagapatti, which comes under the Salem South Assembly constituency, on Tuesday (March 17), seized ₹2 lakh in cash that was unaccounted for, and handed it to the district treasury. They made the seizure while checking the car driven by Vijaykumar, a resident of Linemedu. This is the first seizure of unaccounted cash in Salem district after the election model code of conduct came into force from Sunday evening.
