Panic gripped in Telangana's Sangareddy district on Friday after a swarm of honeybees attacked residents, leaving several people injured and triggering chaos in the area.
The incident occurred when a large swarm of honeybees suddenly descended on villagers who were going about their routine activities. The unexpected attack led to several people being stung, forcing residents to run for safety.
Those injured were rushed to a government hospital for treatment. Ambulances from the 108 emergency services were deployed to shift the victims. However, with many people suffering bee stings, the available ambulances were not sufficient, forcing some of the injured to reach the hospital on their own.
Villagers were seen fleeing the area in panic as the bees continued to swarm around, creating a tense situation in the village for some time. Locals said the attack triggered widespread fear among residents.
Meanwhile, visuals of the incident captured on CCTV cameras are circulating, showing people running for cover as the swarm of bees attacked them.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of people injured in the incident.
