A four-year-old boy was critically injured after being attacked by stray dogs inside a school campus in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district on Wednesday, raising serious concerns over campus security. The irony is that it was the first day of the child at school.
The incident occurred at Swami Vivekananda Model School in Upni village of the Sridungargarh area. The child had gone to school for the first time with his elder brother. Nearly an hour and a half later, he reportedly stepped out of his classroom.

The boy was immediately admitted to PBM Hospital, where doctors said he sustained deep head injuries. According to medical officials, the dogs tore at his scalp, and repeated cleaning of the wounds will be required. Doctors indicated that his treatment is likely to be prolonged.
The incident has sparked anger among villagers, who questioned why preventive action was not taken if complaints about stray dogs had already been made. They also raised concerns over the absence of security personnel and the open main gate.
Earlier, a woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a pet dog during her morning walk in Bengaluru on January 26.
