SSC results: Telangana records 92.78% pass rate, girls excel

Director of School Education noted that the overall pass percentage had improved from 91.31 last year to 92.78 this year.

Telangana’s girls have done it again. Proving their academic mettle, girl students outperformed boys in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) public examinations 2025, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.

Of the 5,09,564 registered candidates, 5,07,107 appeared for the exams held from March 21 to April 3, including 10,733 private candidates. Regular candidates recorded an overall pass percentage of 92.78%, while private candidates achieved a pass rate of 57.22%, according to the director of Government Examinations.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Education Secretary Yogita Rana, released the results in a brief ceremony at Ravindra Bharati.

Running nearly 90 minutes behind schedule, the SSC results were finally made accessible to students around 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday via the official websites — results.bsetelangana.org, results.bse.telangana.gov.in, and bse.telangana.gov.in. The login password was quietly shared with the press, marking the release with a brief and largely symbolic gesture.

Director of School Education E.V. Narsimha Reddy noted that the overall pass percentage had improved from 91.31 last year to 92.78 this year. Telangana’s residential schools led the way with a remarkable 98.79% pass rate, while institutions run by the BC, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Minority, Model, Ashram, and KGBV departments recorded a success percentage higher than the State average.

The DGE’s tabulated report offered deeper insights into this year’s SSC performance. Among 1,306 students with special needs who appeared for the exams, 93.57% cleared them. Of the 11,554 schools across Telangana, 4,629 recorded a perfect 100% pass rate.

Mahabubabad district topped the charts with a stellar 99.29% pass rate, while Vikarabad fell to the bottom with just 73.97%. Among districts with the highest number of examinees, Medchal (47,235 students) posted a 90.76% pass rate, Hyderabad (73,911) stood at 88.53% and Ranga Reddy (51,671) at 87.84%.
