‘Squad’ member Jamaal Bowman compared to serial liar George Santos, ripped by ex-FDNY commish after unearthed 9/11 conspiracies

A former FDNY commissioner who served during the 9/11 terror attacks shredded a local congressman who peddled outlandish conspiracy theories on an unearthed blog – calling the Democrat “unfit” for office.
Former commissioner Tom Von Essen’s harsh words for US Rep. Jamaal Bowman came after it was revealed he made comments on a long-since deleted blog that entertained the possibility the 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center were an inside job.
“Jamaal Bowman and George Santos should be in business together,” Von Essen said, referring to the serial lying ex-congressman from Long Island who was booted from office last year.
“There are crazy people out there. There are people who said I planted explosives on the floors of the World Trade Center towers,” added Von Essen, who also served as the New York-NJ regional director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Bowman is definitely unfit to be in Congress. He’s definitely someone we don’t need,” Von Essen told The Post.
Bowman — a member of the liberal House “Squad” that also includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — kept a blog more than a decade ago that claimed WTC building No. 7 was destroyed in a controlled demolition and that hijacked Flight 93 and Flight 77 caused minimal damage and left behind little debris. The posts were unearthed by The Daily Beast.
