'So Sad': Stephen Colbert Delights In Melania Trump's Not-So-Spirited Christmas Video

The "Late Show" host spotted the "truly historic" addition to the White House Christmas decorations.
“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday mocked Melania Trump for showing off her “signature pep” in a moody clip showcasing this year’s White House Christmas decorations.
In a video backed by a mellow piano instrumental, the first lady is seen strolling past several Christmas trees that are wrapped in white lights before taking a closer look at a white ornament.
“That is so sad. They didn’t even play a Christmas carol; they played the before-music from an anti-depressant commercial,” Colbert quipped before playing the track again and launching into an impression of a drug ad narrator. “Ask your doctor if Somazome is right for you. Side effects of Somazome include silent wandering.”
Colbert noted that there was reportedly no menorah nor any other nods to non-Christian religious traditions in the White House. However, the administration deemed one item “worthy” enough to display: a Lego portrait of President Donald Trump.
“Truly, truly historic because it’s the first Legos you kind of want to step on,” Colbert joked.
