Referring to the sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that slum dwellers have shown that they have more civic sense than the ones living in high-rise buildings.
Mumbai would not have witnessed such a sharp surge in cases of infection had residents of high-rise buildings in the city adhered to Covid- appropriate behaviour, Mayor Kishori Pednekar said. "Today, the people living in the slums have shown that they have more civic sense than the ones living in various housing societies...The ones living in slums abide by the rules and follow procedures. So I can only request the various housing societies to follow rules," she went on to say.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
