
SIT formed to arrest accused in Mysuru gang rape case: Karnataka Home Minister

A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to catch the accused involved in the gang rape of a college student in Mysuru, informed Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.
Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra informed on Wednesday that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to nab the accused, who were involved in the gang rape of a student in Mysuru. Terming the incident, which took place on Tuesday night, as "most unfortunate”, the home minister said, “Senior police officials have been rushed to Mysuru. They are guiding the police investigation into the incident."
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
