Kazakhstan is experiencing the worst street protests the country has seen since gaining independence three decades ago.
Commenting on the safety of Indian citizens trapped in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of External Affairs has said, "Our embassy in Kazakhstan is closely monitoring the situation, particularly with regards to the safety of Indian citizens there. Should they require to return, we will facilitate."

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
