Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will also be the 17th ruler of Abu Dhabi
The United Arab Emirates' federal supreme council elected on May 14 Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the new President of UAE, state news agency an Emirates News Agency-WAM reported.
Former UAE President of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away on May 13. He served as the President of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi since November 3, 2004.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs has announced 40 days of mourning for the passing of the President.
