The "Late Night" host knows someone who speaks the president's language.
“Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Wednesday dismissed special envoy Steve Witkoff’s reported advice to Vladimir Putin’s top aide on how the Russian president can “flatter” Donald Trump during his Ukraine plan pitch.
“If they want to know how to talk to Trump, they should ask Zohran [Mamdani]. I mean, for real!” Meyers said, alongside a picture of the U.S. president gleefully looking up at the New York City mayor-elect during his visit to the Oval Office. “Look at that! Normally, the only time you see an old guy smile like that is when his favorite restaurant opens at four.”
Meyers also commented on Brazil’s Supreme Court ordering former President Jair Bolsonaro to begin serving his 27-year prison sentence for plotting a coup after losing a presidential election.
“Wow! Our guy only got four years,” quipped Meyers as a snap from Trump’s swearing-in ceremony in January appeared on screen.
