Sensex, Nifty trade flat | Check top performing shares

Sensex shredded gains and was up by 0.06 per cent or 3.22 points at 54,055.83. The Nifty gained marginally by 0.01 per cent or 2.40 points to 16,127.55.
The Sensex and Nifty fell flat after making gains in opening trade on Wednesday. This came after both key equity indexes declined for two straight sessions, as banking stocks jumped amid strength in broader Asian equities, although the gains were capped by losses in the technology sector.
The NSE Nifty 50 index was up by 0.50 per cent at 16,205.30, while the S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.36 per cent to 54,245.74 in early morning trade. However, the Sensex shredded gains and was up by 0.06 per cent or 3.22 points at 54,055.83. The Nifty gained marginally by 0.01 per cent or 2.40 points to 16,127.55.
The Nifty's finance, banking, and private sector banks' sub-indexes rose over 1 per cent each, while the IT index fell 1.4 per cent.
Adani Ports fell 2.4 per cent and was among the top losers on the Nifty 50. The port operator, late on Tuesday, reported a 20 per cent decline in its net profit for the March quarter.
Airline operator InterGlobe Aviation fell 1 per cent ahead of its quarterly earnings results.
Asian stocks were mostly in the positive territory even as global growth concerns loomed and a weak US economic data weighed on Wall Street. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.74 per cent.
