A native of Shahjahanpur, Anuj Chetan Katheria was planning to tie the knot for the sixth time when he was arrested on Friday. The accused, a self-proclaimed baba, was arrested following a complaint by his fifth wife.
A man was on Friday arrested in Kanpur for allegedly marrying five women without being legally separated from his earlier wives and honey-trapping many others, police said. The accused, identified as Anuj Chetan Katheria of Shahjahanpur, was planning to get married for the sixth time before he was arrested by the Kidwai Nagar police. DCP South Kanpur Police Raveena Tyagi said Anuj Katheria, a self-proclaimed ‘baba’, was arrested on the complaint of his wife. "She alleged that Anuj was married to five women and was going to tie the knot for the sixth time. The accused was arrested on Friday,” the police officer said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
