Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon, who has been facing heat for drawing parallels between the trainings of PFI and RSS shakhas, issued a clarification.
Patna's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manavjit Singh Dhillon issued a clarification after his comments regarding the training of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and that of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) shakhas sparked a massive outrage. Manavjit Singh Dhillon on Friday said this was a 'selective misinterpretation' and he had no intention of comparing the training of PFI and RSS.
On Thursday, Patna's top cop ignited a row after he drew parallels between the training of PFI and the RSS and invited an angry reaction from the BJP, which demanded his removal.
Manavjit Singh Dhillon said, "This is selective misinterpretation. I had clarified my stand earlier too. I said what the accused confessed during the interrogation and what was written in the documents."
"When we asked the accused how they function, they said training is being given to them similar to other organisations. The accused said that they have adopted the working style of a particular organisation when questioned, "the SSP said.
A suspected terrorist module was busted by the Patna Police on Thursday and two suspected terrorists, Athar Parvez and Md Jalaluddin, were arrested. According to the police, the module was planning to turn India into an Islamic nation by 2047. There was also a plot to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit on July 12.

Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon had said, "The organization worked at Masjids and Madrassas to mobilize youths and worked to radicalize them. The modus operandi was similar to that of RSS shakhas. They train the youth under the guise of physical education and spread their agenda. We got documents of camps teaching martial arts and training members to use sticks and swords under the guise of physical training. The document was being used to radicalize, brain wash and mobilize people."
