Sekarbabu takes part in consecration of Mandaikadu temple

HR&CE Minister Sekarbabu oversees temple restoration and consecration ceremonies in Kanniyakumari District, with public funding and donor contributions.
Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) P.K. Sekarbabu participated in the consecration ceremony of Mandaikadu Bhagavathi Temple on Sunday.
The temple was previously consecrated on February 10, 2019. However, an unexpected fire accident on June 2, 2021, caused the collapse of the sanctum’s roof. Restoration work of the temple bagan on November 21, 2021 under the supervision of HR&CE Minister Mr. Sekarbabu.
The temple underwent renovation at a total cost of ₹1.80 crore. Of this, ₹95 lakh was allocated from the public welfare scheme, ₹30 lakh was contributed by donors and the remaining amount was funded through other resources.
A large number of devotees participated in the consecration ceremony, which was smoothly conducted with security arrangements made by the District Police .
The Minister also took part in the concecration of Sri Mahadevar temple in Thiruvithancode.
Following this, Mr. Sekarbabau laid foundation stone for the renovation work at Sthanumalayan Temple in Suchindram. The last consecration ceremony of the temple was carried out in 2004. Currently the renovation work of the temple costing ₹1.29 crore has commenced.
Kanniyakumari District Collector R. Alagumeena, HR&CE Commissioner P.N. Sridhar and other officials were present at the event
