A school bus carrying children to a school fell into a canal at Mottakkavu, Poovathur, in Vamanapuram panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala around 9 a.m on Tuesday (February 17, 2026).
Local residents rushed to carry out rescue operations, ensuring that all the children were safe. The bus was carrying 23 children to a school at Poovathur when the incident happened.
The children did not sustain any injuries and were taken to CSI Medical College, Karakonam, for first aid, according to sources.
