SBI opens new branches in Vellore and Walajah, supports underprivileged communities with CSR initiative.
State Bank of India (SBI) opened new branches in Vellore and Walajah on Saturday.
According to a press release, Parminder Singh, Chief General Manager, SBI (Chennai Circle), opened the new branches respectively in Poigai village, Vellore, and Walajah near Ranipet. M.V.R. Murali Krishna, General Manager; Benudhar Parhi, Deputy General Manager; and Pallem Padma Babu Goud, Regional Manager (Vellore), were present.
Following the inaugural event, as part of SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for 2024-25 to support underprivileged communities, Mr. Parminder handed over a demand draft of ₹14.2 lakh to Jerry Joshua, Director, Schieffelin Institute of Health Research and Leprosy Centre (Vellore), for the purchase of X-ray machines.
On the occasion, Mr. Parminder also met Sankar Viswanathan, vice-president, VIT, and Vikram Mathew, director, Christian Medical College, the release said.
