
Sameer Wankhede to face NCB vigilance team today. Why is he being questioned?

Sameer Wankhede will face an NCB vigilance team in Mumbai today. The NCB had ordered a vigilance probe against zonal director Sameer Wankhede after a witness accused him of asking for a Rs 25 crore bribe.
A five-member team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), under the leadership of Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh, will leave for Mumbai around 9am on Wednesday.
Sources said the vigilance team will interrogate many characters, including Sameer Wankhede. Apart from Wankhede, the team will question Prabhakar Sail and many other team members. In addition to the DDG, four officers at the level of zonal director and superintendent have been included in the team.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
