Salem registers pass percentage of 92.17 and Namakkal 94.52 in Class X public examination

Salem district achieves 92.17% pass rate, Namakkal district excels with 94.52% in Class X public exams.
Salem district registered a pass percentage of 92.17 and Namakkal district registered 94.52 in the class X public examination, the results of which were released on Friday.
As many as 40,709 students (20,177 girls and 20,532 boys) from 523 schools in Salem district wrote the examination and 37,520 students(18,460 boys and 19,060 girls) emerged successful. The pass percentage of Salem district is 92.17, which is 0.42% higher than the last year’s pass percentage of 91.75. The Salem district got 30th place in the State. With a pass percentage of 94.46, the girls outshined boys who secured 89.91%. Out of the 523 schools, 130 schools achieved a 100% pass rate.
In the government schools category, 23,798 students (12,420 girls and 11,378 boys)from 296 schools wrote the exams and 21,339 (11,473 girls and 9,863 boys) passed. The pass percentage of government schools is 89.65%. With a pass percentage of 92.38, girls outperformed boys who secured 86.68%.
Twenty-five prisoners from the Salem Central Prison have cleared the Class X exam.
In Namakkal district, 18,764 students (9,821 boys and 8,943 girls) from 295 schools wrote the public examination and 17,736 students (9,107 boys and 8,629 girls) passed. The district’s pass percentage is 94.52%, which is 1.01% higher than last year’s pass percentage of 93.51% and secured the 19th place in the State. While the boys registered a pass percentage of 92.73, the girls secured 96.49%. A total of 115 schools achieved centum results in the district.
As many as 10,635 students (5,319 boys and 5,316 girls) from 162 government schools appeared for the exams and 9,814 (4,748 boys and 5,066 girls) passed. The government schools achieved a pass percentage of 92.28, securing 20th place in the State. In the district, 40 government schools achieved a 100% pass rate.
