
SAD leaders court arrest, accuse Congress of bid to implicate Majithia in false drug case

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and other party leaders marched towards Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's residence and courted arrest.
SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and other party members on Saturday courted arrest to register their protest against what they called a "conspiracy" by the Congress to implicate senior party leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a "false drug case".
Led by Badal, senior leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) marched towards Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's residence and courted arrest.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
