Citing the findings of the SIT probing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has demanded the removal of Union Minister Ajay Misra Teni.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday demanded the removal of Ajay Misra Teni as Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home. Teni's son Ashish Misra is one of the key accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence that claimed eight lives, including that of four BJP workers.
In a press statement, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the SIT probing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence says that "farmers being mowed down by a car was not a case of criminal negligence but part of a criminal conspiracy" against protesting farmers.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
