
Ruzhazo: Nagaland Governor Ravi visits village that was the first to get ‘independence’

Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Thursday paid a visit to Ruzhazo village, the first Indian village liberated from British control.
Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Thursday visited Ruzhazo village in the Phek district of the state. Ruzhazo has the distinction of becoming the first Indian village to have been liberated from the British control. The village was liberated from the British control in 1944 by the Azad Hind Fauj, also called the Indian National Army. The village was subsequently administered by the Azad Hind government of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Governor Ravi also visited Chozuba and Yoruba villages in the district during the day.More Related News
