Sources exclusively told India Today that TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira Banerjee allegedly lied “intentionally” about health concerns related to Covid to skip ED summon, but she visited beauty parlours and hill stations.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira Banerjee allegedly lied “intentionally” to avoid appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi on August 31 for questioning in the coal smuggling case, sources exclusively told India Today.

She had allegedly travelled to Delhi around the same time she was summoned by the ED. She had skipped the ED summon by saying that "travelling to New Delhi physically alone in the midst of pandemic will put my and the lives of my children at grave risk.”
