
RTC to fill 3,038 vacancies soon: Ponnam Prabhakar

Telangana State RTC to recruit for 3,038 vacancies, including drivers and medical officers, for improved services and free bus travel.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said recruitment in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGRTC) would be held soon and a notification to fill 3,038 vacancies will be released soon.
Praising the RTC for the smooth operations in Telangana, he said the government’s commitment in ensuring RTC’s healthy finances reflects with timely release of funds for various schemes, including free bus travel for women in Telangana.
The Minister said that the women in Telangana have saved over ₹5,500 crore in the last 16 months due to free travel. So far, 165 crore tickets have been issued for women under the free travel scheme introduced as a part of the people-centric governance under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
To improve services of the RTC, he said the recruitment has been taken up and the process would start soon. The vacancies will be filled in various wings, including Drivers, Deputy Superintendent (Traffic), Deputy Superintendent (Mechanical), Depot Manager, Assistant Traffic Manager, Assistant Mechanical Engineer, Assistant Engineer (Civil), Accounts Officers, Medical Officers (General), and Medical Officers (Specialist).
Vacancies are as follows — Drivers (2,000), Shramik (743), Deputy Superintendent (Traffic) — 84, Deputy Superintendent (Mechanical) — 114, Depot Manager/Assistant Traffic Manager (25), Assistant Mechanical Engineer (18), Assistant Engineer (Civil) – 23, Section Officer (Civil) — 11, Accounts Officers (6), Medical Officers (General) — 7 and Medical Officers (Specialist) — 7.
