
RPF returns Russian’s left-behind bag

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attached to Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.’s (KRCL) Udupi Station on Sunday retrieved a left-behind handbag of a Russian traveller and returned it to the owner.

A communique from KRCL here said one Nikolai, travelling on Train No. 22113 Mumbai Lokamanya Tilak Terminus–Thiruvananthapuram North Superfast Express, alighted at Kundapura, leaving behind his bag on Sunday. Immediately, he informed the station master at Kundapura, who conveyed the message to the Udupi RPF post.
Under Operation Amanath, RPF constable R. Mohan retrieved the bag from the passenger’s berth in a 3-tier AC coach and handed it over to the RPF Post. The bag containing a Russian passport and cash of different currencies worth ₹1.29 lakh was handed over to Mr. Nikolai the same day.
