A retired NYPD transit cop was accidentally shot and killed by his friend during a scuffle with another man on a Brooklyn street Monday night, police and sources said.
Retired cop Thomas Marrinan, 57, was killed after rushing to a pizzeria in Kensington with his friend Robert Velasquez, a retired city correction officer whose 86-year-old father was being harassed by an unruly 33-year-old man at about 7 p.m., according to police and sources. When the friends confronted the 33-year-old, identified by sources as Michael Soto, a fight broke out, spilling outside onto Church Avenue and East 3rd Street, police said.More Related News
