
Resident doctors’ protest over delayed NEET counselling and admission process | Explained

The representatives of the protesting doctors were not satisfied with the result of the meeting with the Centre on Tuesday. They have decided to continue their agitation.
Resident doctors from across India have been protesting under the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) banner against the delay in NEET PG 2021 counselling. The body after a meeting with the Health Ministry said that they are not satisfied and decided to continue the protest on Tuesday, a day after doctors said that they were subjected to ‘police brutality’ when they marched towards the residence of the Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
