Relief from heatwave likely from Monday, rainfall expected in several states

The weather agency on Saturday said that the heat wave will gradually decrease from May 16 onwards and predicted rainfall in J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand along with adjoining plains of North India.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said that the heat wave will continue till May 15 and then will subsequently decrease.
The weather agency also said that there will be a western disturbance in north-west India on Sunday night.
Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology, IMD, said, “Heatwave will continue for today & tomorrow. It'll gradually decrease from May 16 onwards. On the night of May 15, there'll be a western disturbance in northwest India.”
“Thereafter, temperatures will decrease and heat wave will abate,” Mohapatra added.
Severe heat wave will prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, MP, Rajasthan and Vidarbha, Mohapatra said.
