Red Fort violence: Court grants bail to man accused of assaulting cop

Khempreet Singh, accused of assaulting a policeman with a spear during the violence at the Red Fort, was granted relief after court ruled their was no clear evidence against him.

A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to a man who allegedly assaulted a policeman on duty with a spear during the violence which erupted at the Red Fort on Republic Day this year. On January 26, protesting farmers had clashed with police during the tractor rally against the three farm laws and stormed into the Red Fort, hoisting religious flags on its domes and injuring scores of policemen.
