
Rajasthan Cong MLA booked for assaulting govt officer accuses police officials of corruption

Congress MLA Giriraj Malinga, who is accused of assaulting an assistant engineer of the electricity department, has alleged that the police officials are trying to implicate him.
Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Malinga, who has been accused of allegedly thrashing a government officer in his office, has accused police officials, including Director-General of Police ML Lather of corruption. Giriraj Malinga has alleged that the Rajasthan DGP is conspiring to implicate him.
The Congress MLA from Dholpur has been accused of assaulting an assistant engineer of the electricity department. Giriraj Malinga has denied the charges and is claiming that the police officers are pressurising people to testify against him.
Giriraj Malinga said that the officials in Rajasthan are creating corruption, and also accused DGP ML Lather and his in-laws of corrupt practices. He has also made serious allegations against the SP of Dholpur, and has claimed that no action is being taken against the corrupt officials.

Addressing a press conference in Jaipur on Monday, Malinga said, “I want to make this news reach the Chief Minister (Ashok Gehlot) because I am unable to talk to anyone.”
Notably, Giriraj Malinga, who is accused of beating the electricity department official, has not been arrested yet. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot himself had come to meet the injured engineer at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. The injured official had reportedly told the CM that the MLA had assaulted him and other people.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
