Madurai residents welcomed relief from scorching sun as rain lashes various parts of the city, causing temporary traffic disruptions.
Madurai received rain on Thursday evening, bringing a welcome relief to the residents from the scorching sun. The city has been experiencing hot conditions in the last few weeks.
The rain lashed places near the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Simmakkal, Palanganatham, Arapalayam, Bypass road, Periyar bus stand, Jaihindpuram, Kamarajar Salai, Anna Nagar, K.K. Nagar, Mattuthavani, Sellur and Tirumangalam.
Though the rain left the roads inundated and disrupted traffic movement for some time, it still proved to be some respite from the peak summer heat.
